with Anthology

At Anthology we believe part of our primary calling is to make a difference: in our church, in the lives of others, and in our city. Here is a list of some of the ways we make a difference in our community. Scroll below to see why we serve like we do.

The NHIFP is a collection of churches and temples that has been serving the needy in the greater Studio City/North Hollywood area since 1983. Anthology is one of these members and we regularly pack bags of food to hand out each Monday & Friday.

Food Forward helps home owners donate fresh fruit from their fruit trees to organizations like NHIFP. They also organize groups like our church go to the homes and pick the donated fruit off the trees. You can join us for one of these monthly picks.

The Studio City Recreation Center is an amazing park with great services for the whole community. Not only is it the location we have our Sunday Gatherings in, but it’s a great place for us to volunteer to serve families. We serve at several Rec Center events throughout the year.

Relay For Life is a organization that helps end suffering from cancer through events that raise money to fight the disease. Anthology has a team each year at our local Relay.

There are a lot of people at Anthology that work hard every Sunday to set up, tear down, serve the children, & play in the worship band. There are ample opportunities to serve in Anthology every week!

Why do we serve?

“But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”

Jeremiah 29:7

As Anthology Church and as followers of Jesus we believe one of our greatest callings is to serve our city and make it a better place. We believe we are called to seek justice, serve the poor and oppressed, and help make the city the best it can be in every possible way. But why?

It all comes from God's Story, the gospel. In the gospel we are told we were poor, helpless, and needy. God stooped down in Jesus to our level to serve us and rescue us, even when we didn't deserve it. And he went to the cross to give everything to us. So, since we as followers of Jesus have been given everything, how can we not serve everyone in return?

On top of that the end of God's Story says that we will live in peace & harmony with God in a city, using our gifts and talents to make it the best place it can be for everyone. We have a chance to live out that purpose now in seeking to better our city anyway we can.
